Slanted Rays

Hello! I have been bullet journaling with relative consistency since January 2018. Since it has been awhile since my early attempts at bullet journaling, I thought it might be interesting to look back at some of my earlier bullet journals. Today, we are looking at my very first bullet journal. This is my very first monthly spread. As you can tell, I barely left any room for a calendar. At this time, my bullet journal often prioritized aesthetics over functionality. On the left page of this spread, I have written "january" in cursive and decorated it with a circular pattern. On the right page of this spread, I have drawn a small calendar for the month of January 2018, with important dates written inside. Here is a typical weekly spread from my first month of bullet journaling. 1.     Being able to get anywhere in the city through the magic of walking and public transportation. This image features the tracks of one of the metro stations in the Champs-Élysées. As it turns out, it is much easier to dress in warm layers than it is to constantly evade heat exhaustion. 3.     Constant access to interesting shops, and, in particular, the papeterie section of Gibert Jeune. The cover of the journal that I am excerpting in this blog post. I decorated this journal when I was nine years old, so it is not particularly artistic. The cover is cream-colored, with an fleur-de-lys print in lime green on it. The binding is an orangish-yellow. I have placed jewelled shooting star and flower stickers on it, along with stickers featuring platitudes like "True Friends" and "Live Laugh Love". There are two separate stickers with my name written, in different fonts, with the writing smudged. Nine-year-old Lydia was clearly not destined to go into Hello!  I am returning with another journal retrospective. Once again, I am sharing excerpts from a journal that I kept during my senior year of high school. Per usual, I am making occasional edits for anonymity, grammar, and accuracy, while keeping the content and character of these journal entries as they were originally written.
